Current Community Garden Needs

This page list the items and services we currently need to complete one or more of our garden projects.

Currently Needed Items

We are currently try to out fit two new community gardens.

Our goal is to have enough common hand tools to allow gardeners to walk, bike or ride the bus to the gardens and have the most commonly needed tools at the garden awaiting our gardeners’ use. Please note that this garden is without electricity, and only hand (or battery) tools are appropriate.

Garden tools

• Wheel barrows
• Hoses
• Hand tools
• trowels
• shovels
• rakes

General Infrastructure

• Tool Shed or Mini-storage unit
• Potting Bench
• Message/Bulletin Board
• Compost Bins/Tumblers – several different types desirable
• Plastic storage bins or barrels with lids
• Sledge and carpenter’s hammers, stakes, nails, handsaw
• Combination locks (2)
• Hoses (25′ max required) (up to 15 needed if each hose bib has a hose)

Special Skills

• A mechanically inclined person to clean up and get a donated, gas-powered shredder running
• Simple Carpentry skills
• Basic legal advice towards completing setting up the non-profit

Donated items may be dropped off at SoCal Storage Adolfo at 4060 Via Pescador, Camarillo.
